Huge Hefner passed away 9/27/2017 at the age of 91. Mr. Hefner and his Playboy empire are considered one of the leaders in ushering a sexual revolution. A revolution that sought to liberate men and women from “puritanical” religious views as they pertain to sexual relations and sexuality in general. This is an in-depth interview into the —Philosophy— behind the founding of the Playboy empire.
The Catholic Church has always taught that sexual relationships are best left within the confines of marriage. William F. Buckley, a Catholic, challenges Huge Hefner, the founder of Playboy, on his revolutionary views and where his new ideas imitate from. The Catholic Church teaches that Gods laws, the natural laws, are immutable and permanent throughout the variations of history. Catechism of the Catholic Church
Today we know the sexual revolution has been a complete failure and the destruction it left in its path was predicted by Pope Paul VI in his encyclical letter Humana Vitae that reiterated the Church’s opposition to contraception. There are no more prophetic documents in the modern age than that one.
Mr. Buckley also challenges Mr. Hefner as to whether or not he believes that sex, simply because it is such a strong human drive, should not be refrained at all, and if there is to be any refrain, then where is the line drawn. Mr. Hefner could not offer a definitive and repeated his claim that old religious teachings were not healthy.
